My clients are always asking which are the most popular long hair updos for Key West Brides, and for glimpses of other hairstyles I’ve created so that they can be inspired for their own weddings. I decided to gather a collection of some of my most recent popular requests. Also known as half up half down, Brides love these looks because they are so soft and romantic, often a perfect look for a beach-side Key West wedding!
Barely pulled up with loose waves
First up, this hairstyle is so whimsical. It’s a “barely pulled up” style made with loose, romantic waves for the bride whose wedding day is her own fairy tale. I love the addition of some hair accessories as well, like these sweet silk flowers pictured in this bride’s hair.
Off to the side long fishtail updo
This off to the side, messy fishtail braid has been a very popular long hair updo for our Key West brides to be, especially for their rehearsal dinners. Brides are loving this put-together look while also needing a little less maintenance throughout the day. This style manages to be simple and yet also intricate and detailed.
Partially pulled up and criss-cross in the back
Brides love this partially pulled-back look with a little criss-cross detail in the back. Some brides like this look because it ties together with the corset ties on their wedding gown, but really this look has an elegant feel for any bride.
Half up half down with a twisty side braid
This is another half-up-half-down look that has been a huge hit this year. Brides love having the braid details of an up-do while also having the long, loose waves of a loose hair look.
Loose wave updo with one side pulled up
Here is yet another variation of the mostly down style. This pulled-to-the-side look can be perfect for a bride who wants long loose curls or waves, but also wants to add a little detail or accessory to her style for the day.
I get a lot of brides asking me what look I think is the best hairstyle for a wedding day, but the truth is, every bride should do what is best for her. It’s your special day and you want to look your best. I recommend playing up your best features as well as the best features of your wedding gown. (For example, if you have an elegant back detail on your gown, it may be a better choice to wear your hair up so that the detail is visible. I’ll be posting a collection of most popular updos soon!)
As with every part of your wedding day, it’s important to go with a look that will make you happy on your wedding day and make you smile when you look at your wedding pictures. Bring me your wedding hair vision!
