When the lovely Kelly Ann reached out and ask if I would be interested in doing hair and makeup for a lifestyle bridal photoshoot in Key West, I just about died — of course I was interested! As if this wasn’t convincing enough (I LOVE DOING LIFESTYLE SHOOTS), she then proceeded to tell me that I had done her hair and makeup several years back for her own wedding and she had never felt so beautiful (Awww!) Please twist my arm as I say YES!!! I remembered exactly who Kelly was and I could hardly wait to see her again.
So she arrived in Key West with a gorgeous model, a stunning gown, several boxes of macaroons, incredible flowers, and those shoes…. <3 And we got busy. We talked a little bit about her vision and how she wanted the hair and the makeup to flow with the tropical paradise surrounding us. She told me I had complete creative freedom… With a gown like that all I could see was romantic, loose updo and dreamy makeup with lots of fluttery lashes. I should mention that I placed a few tracks of clip ins hair extensions so as to make the hair fuller and longer. Any excuse I get to play with more hair, I EMBRACE. 😀
Locations for our Bridal Photoshoot Key West
This first portion of our bridal shoot in Key West took place at a private home. Typical gorgeous Key West house with lots of lush vegetation and of course a pool. Gosh, don’t you just want to move here?
Then it was time to hit the magnificent Fort Zacchary Taylor Park, also know down here by the locals as Fort Zacch, which is, if you ladies didn’t know, designated as a National Historic Landmark. Yes siree, it is all that and some and remains one of my fave place to get inspired. When you move here, we’ll go hang out. Deal?
I love the sexy sort of mysterious sense I feel when I look at these pictures. The trees, the colors, the texture of her gown, the loose hair blowing in the wind, the ominous clouds… it all works seamlessly.
