Kayleigh on the beach before her wedding

Kayleigh’s beach wedding in May was a gorgeous affair that brought together the best of contemporary fashion with the grandeur of a natural setting. That meant her hair And makeup had to look spectacular while standing up to the demands of an outdoor event.

Set against the breathtaking background of the Atlantic Ocean, Kayleigh stood out as the center of the scene in a dress from none other than Oscar de la Renta. This lacy affair with sheer back and plunging lines in front and back was created to be the perfect fit for a beach ceremony.

“We had a very specific vision of what the wedding would look like, but it surpassed what we even imagined it could be,” said Kayleigh.

Kayleigh had been looking for a wavy updo in magazines and on Pinterest, something that would emphasize the neckline she had so carefully designed. She also wanted to keep it from falling flat and being able to worry less about the wind at her outdoor ceremony.

When Kayleigh and her fiancé, Jason, visited Key West in December, they met up with Marie-Pierre in her brand new space on Fleming Street. “She was just in her new space but she fit me in anyway, since I was only there at that time. I brought the pictures and she got it right away.” With a few adjustments and a little more discussion, they found exactly what she was looking for.

On the day, Marie-Pierre and Galina met Kayleigh and her bridal party at the Casa Marina in Key West. Their spacious suite with bedroom, fitting room and dining room was illuminated by great windows revealing an expansive view of the ocean. “We never felt like we were missing a day at the beach,” said Kayleigh, “we were already there.”

Music and champagne kept everyone happy and energized as myself doing hair and Galina doing makeup styled Kayleigh and her fun group. “Marie-Pierre  was so easy to work with. She managed the logistics with my five bridesmaids to make sure each of them was gorgeous, as well as my mother and mother-in-law. It really showed.”

And how did the do and gorgeous makeup perform?

“It was amazing! We wanted to have pictures before the wedding. By the time the ceremony came around I only needed a little touch up, nothing really. My favorite moment was walking by the pool to the ceremony and having all the kids freeze and look at me. They screamed ‘Mommy, Daddy, look at the bride!’ That’s when it really hit me that I look like a bride. It was the sweetest, cutest moment ever.”
